About

Welcome!

I’m a highly motivated and driven individual with a passion for technology and innovation.

One thing I am really good at is taking on complex problems and solving them with people, process, and technology.

On this site you can find my thoughts on technology, business, and a range of other topics. There are two main categories:

  1. Business
  2. Technology

Business articles are focused on outcomes and are aimed at people who have an interest in organisational strategy, operations, and transformation.

Technology articles are more technical and are aimed at people who are interested in the details of how things work.

I hope you find something useful here.

A Brief History of (my) Time

My university journey started with a double degree in Physics and Mathematics. While my passion for deeply understanding the world around us hasn’t changed, my path has taken a few twists and turns along the way.

While I was studying Physics and Mathematics, I also freelanced building websites for local businesses, which paid the bills and made me realise that I enjoyed building things and solving business problems.

Finishing studies with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting, IT) degree, I was happy in the world of technology, programming, and Software as a Service (SaaS). There were wonderful moments of solving huge challenges and building unique solutions for clients across a range of industries.

Then I moved into a role with an Australian organisation that has a mission to organise information and digitise processes performed by regulated industries and governments. Originally starting in a presales role, I had the privilege of working with amazing people in various business focused roles.

My next opportunity for growth was in a then-startup called ServiceNow. We needed to change a diverse, adhoc group of organisations who sometimes used software into a vibrant ecosystem of partners who had certified and trained professionals, executing mutual business plans, and keeping each other accountable for growing revenue and customer success. My role saw me assisting people from Big 4 advisory consulting firms through to small, local businesses in growing their ServiceNow practices across Australia and New Zealand. I helped small organisations grow into mid-size enterprises and participated in M&A with some who were acquired by well known organisations.

Overall, we achieved a 16x revenue growth in 4 years. Great success!

Then, I joined some colleagues in another (also) then-startup named WalkMe. This organisation was focused on helping people navigate complex software systems to complete their work and positively impact revenue, risk, and/or cost. Here, we needed to create a parter strategy and ecosystem from the ground up. We developed an ecosystem that is an incredible group of people who are passionate about managing the constant, inevitable change in today’s business world and unlocking productivity and capacity for their employees and customers. From a cold start, we have grown a business unit that contributes well over half of the Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) region’s revenue.

With the recent news of WalkMe being acquired by SAP , I am proud of what we have achieved as we join a larger organisation and one of the world’s leading software companies.
